The Islamabad district administration has started a system of daily public meetings, allowing citizens to visit offices during working hours and raise issues directly

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The Islamabad district administration has started a system of daily public meetings, allowing citizens to visit offices during working hours and raise issues directly.

The policy applies to all offices, and officials are required to respond on the spot.

The district administration in Islamabad has introduced an open door policy aimed at improving public access to government offices. Under this system, citizens can meet officials without prior appointments during office hours.

According to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, the policy has been implemented across all administrative offices in the district. The move is intended to ensure that public concerns are heard and addressed without delay.

The DC has started holding daily meetings with citizens. During these sessions, people can present their issues directly. Officials are instructed to take action at the time of complaint and issue directions where needed.

The administration has also directed all officers to hold daily open courts in their respective offices. These sessions are meant to provide a regular platform where citizens can report problems related to civic services, land matters, and other administrative issues.

Officials have been told to remain available during working hours. Citizens can visit any officer’s office to discuss their concerns. The administration said this step is part of efforts to improve communication between the public and government offices.

The DC Islamabad has made it clear that the policy is mandatory for all departments. Any officer who fails to meet citizens under this policy may face action. The administration has warned that strict steps will be taken against those who do not follow these instructions.

The initiative is being presented as a system to ensure accountability within government offices. By allowing direct access, the administration aims to reduce delays in handling complaints and improve service delivery.

Officials say the policy will continue, and its implementation will be monitored. The administration expects all departments to follow the instructions and ensure that citizens are given access and timely responses to their issues.
