HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Bhittai Nagar police arrested a suspect in injured condition after an alleged encounter while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.

According to a police spokesman, during routine patrolling near Alamdar Chowk close to the grid station, the police spotted armed motorcyclists moving suspiciously with the intention of committing a crime. When the police signaled them to stop, the suspects opened fire and attempted to flee.

In police retaliation, one suspect was arrested in injured condition while his accomplice managed to escape.

The arrested suspect was identified as Hasnain Shaikh.

Police recovered a pistol from the possession of the arrested suspect and shifted him to hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested suspect is affiliated with an active gang of dacoits and street criminals allegedly involved in several incidents of motorcycle theft, snatching and robbery in different areas of Qasimabad in recent days.

Police said the injured suspect was wanted in more than 10 cases, while efforts are underway to arrest the absconding accomplice.
