Housing secretary orders uninterrupted supply of clean water during Ramazan

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Punjab Housing Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal chaired a meeting to ensure uninterrupted provision of clean drinking water to citizens during Ramazan, here on Wednesday.

The meeting reviewed a comprehensive strategy to keep all water filtration plants of the Punjab Clean Water Authority fully operational in view of increased demand during Ramazan. The housing secretary directed that the supply of safe and high-quality drinking water must not be disrupted under any circumstances. He instructed the relevant authorities to remain on high alert and keep field teams fully mobilised, highlighting that regular cleaning and maintenance of water filtration plants should be ensured to maintain the highest water quality standards.

During the briefing, the Punjab Clean Water Authority CEO outlined the proposed plan and arrangements to cater to the increased water consumption in Ramazan. The secretary also directed that the monitoring system be further strengthened to ensure prompt redress of public complaints and immediate resolution of any plant malfunction.

Noor-ul-Amin Mengal made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated in the water supply system, stressing that access to clean drinking water was a fundamental right of every citizen. He said provision of safe water was essential for a healthy society and directed all relevant departments to fully discharge their responsibilities in this regard.
