Highlighting significance of Pakistan Day responsibility of every citizen: DC Matiari

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousif Sheikh, said that Pakistan Day is a symbol of our national identity and great sacrifices, and it is the responsibility of every citizen to highlight its significance.

He stated that Pakistan was achieved through positive thinking and struggle; therefore, we must resolve to provide better education, health, and sanitation facilities to our children.

He urged parents to keep children away from mobile phones and encourage them to read books.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Muhammad Daud Memon High school Matiari.

He further said that during the anti-polio campaign starting from April 13, it is essential to administer polio drops to every child to protect them from lifelong disability.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that on the occasion of Pakistan Day, a special tree plantation campaign has been announced from March 23 to March 31, 2026.

He said that District Matiari has successfully achieved the target of planting 100,000 trees from February 15 to March 15, out of which 20,000 trees were planted in schools and government places, while 80,000 trees were planted on private lands.

DC added that now, during this special campaign, a target of planting 25,000 more trees has been set.

He appealed to citizens to plant as many trees as possible, and if someone cannot plant a tree, they should at least ensure its protection.

He directed the concerned officers and stakeholders to ensure tree planting at all places, including schools.

Other speakers also expressed their views, stating that March 23 is a day of national pride, and we should pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their vital role in defending the country. They emphasized the need for collective efforts to improve health and education in order to build a better society.

Earlier, under the arrangements of the district administration Matiari, a rally was organized in connection with Pakistan Day, which started from THQ Hospital Matiari and culminated at Press Club Matiari. A large number of officers from various departments, teachers, students, and citizens participated in the rally.
