ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Minister of State for education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar on Friday informed the National Assembly that BS degree programmes introduced in the colleges of Federal capital, affiliated with Quaid-i-Azam University were being run in line with regulations of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Responding to a calling attention notice regarding difficulties faced by students enrolled in BS programmes in the colleges of federal capital, she said all academic and administrative arrangements comply with HEC guidelines and university standards.
She said no rules were in place within the programme that violate HEC requirements or the standards set by Quaid-i-Azam University.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The minister explained that a comprehensive institutional assessment was carried out under the HEC accreditation framework before granting affiliation.
She said the evaluation covered faculty strength, academic governance, classroom facilities, and quality assurance systems.
She added that a prescribed checklist was followed during the process to ensure that institutions meet required standards before approval was granted under the relevant affiliation policy.
