HEC Chairman visits Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology Khairpur, inaugurates various projects

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar here on Thursday visited Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development, Khairpur where he was warmly welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar.

During the visit, the HEC Chairman inaugurated the newly constructed Multipurpose Hall and the first-ever Real-Time Air Quality Monitoring System in a public university of Sindh. On this occasion, he also planted a sapling at the new campus as part of the tree plantation campaign. The Chairman HEC also visited a technical exhibition organized by students and appreciated their innovative projects.

Addressing on the occasion, he said that student projects can be further developed on commercial lines and made competitive in international markets.

He praised the University administration’s efforts, stating that under the leadership of Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, the institution was promoting innovation and quality education.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar briefed the Chairman about the university’s academic programs and future development plans. He highlighted the important role of HEC in improving higher education and promoting research activities in the country.

The event was attended by Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Nawabshah Prof. Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, Regional Director HEC Sindh Suleman Ahmed, faculty members and a large number of students.
