Heatwave relief camp established in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noorul-Ain Qureshi, a relief camp has been established at Jinnah Chowk by the District Council Gujrat to facilitate citizens and create awareness about preventive measures against heatwave amid the ongoing spell of extreme heat.

According to the official source, the camp is providing cold drinking water, air coolers, seating arrangements, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), and information on precautionary measures to protect people from heat-related illnesses. District Council staff are present at the camp to assist visitors and ensure the availability of essential facilities.

The district administration has urged citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, increase water intake, and follow safety guidelines to protect themselves from the adverse effects of the heatwave.
