Hearing on Nai Gaj dam construction set for may 7

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Federal Constitutional Court has fixed May 7 for the hearing of an important case related to the construction of the Nai Gaj Dam, directing all relevant authorities to submit a progress report on the project.

A two-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court will take up the case.

The court has issued notices to the provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan, and has also summoned the Attorney General, the Planning Commission, WAPDA, and other concerned parties.

The court directed the relevant authorities to present a detailed report on the progress made so far on the Nai Gaj Dam project, in order to assess its current status and implementation.
