Chasing a challenging 200-run target, the Kings reached the total with eight balls to spare, securing a crucial win to stay in the playoff race
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 23rd, 2026) Karachi Kings produced a stunning comeback to defeat defending champions Lahore Qalandars by five wickets in the 35th match of PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
Chasing a challenging 200-run target, the Kings reached the total with eight balls to spare, securing a crucial win to stay in the playoff race.
The chase began poorly for Karachi as Jason Roy fell early for nine runs.
Skipper David Warner then steadied the innings with brief stands alongside Reeza Hendricks and Salman Ali Agha before forming a vital 58-run partnership with Moeen Ali. Moeen scored a quick 39 off 17 balls before being dismissed by Ubaid Shah.
Karachi suffered further setbacks with the wickets of Azam Khan and Moeen Ali’s departure, but Khushdil Shah changed the momentum with a fiery unbeaten knock.
He hammered 44 off just 14 balls, including a decisive assault in the 18th over against Shaheen Shah Afridi that shifted the game in Kings’ favour.
Warner also remained unbeaten on 63 off 44 deliveries as the pair guided Karachi home comfortably in the final overs.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars posted 199/6 after being put into bat.
Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique built a strong 110-run partnership after an early loss of Mohammad Farooq. Fakhar scored 61, while Shafique top-scored with 62.
For Karachi, Moeen Ali was the standout bowler with two wickets for 26 runs, while Ubaid Shah, Rizwanullah, and Hasan Ali took one wicket each.
