Green e-buses reach Murree to improve eco-friendly transport, ease traffic

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) As many as 10 modern green electric buses have reached Murree to help preserve the hill station’s natural beauty and provide improved travel facilities to tourists.

The initiative is part of the special directives of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif to boost environment-friendly transportation.

The environmentally friendly e-buses are expected to play a key role in controlling rising pollution levels in Murree while offering comfortable and affordable transport to both visitors and local residents.

According to the local administration, the fully electric buses will contribute to maintaining clean air and protecting the scenic landscape of the area.

The buses will operate on key routes including Jhika Gali, Patriata, Rawalpindi to Lari and Lawrence College, facilitating access to major tourist destinations and helping reduce traffic congestion.

According to details, buses are equipped with modern facilities to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers.

“This is the first time in Murree’s history that eco-friendly public transport has been introduced, which is a valuable initiative for both residents and tourists,” a citizen said.

The service which will be launched soon is expected to significantly ease traffic issues, particularly during the peak summer season.
