ANF arrests six suspects, seizes over 17 kg of narcotics in nationwide operations

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted six operations around educational institutions and in various cities across the country and arrested six suspects and recovered 17.820 kilograMS(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 6.2 million.

An ANF spokesman said on Tuesday that in an operation near the Islamabad Toll Plaza, the ANF recovered 950 ecstasy pills weighing 420 grams from the possession of two suspects.

According to the spokesman, the arrested suspects confessed during initial interrogation that they had been supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.

In an international drug interdiction operation at Islamabad International Airport, officials recovered capsules containing 500 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, from the abdomen of a passenger travelling to Jeddah.

The suspect was arrested.

At a courier office located on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi, ANF recovered 900 grams of ice from a parcel destined for Bahrain.

During domestic interdiction operations, ANF recovered 12 kg of opium from a vehicle near Charsadda Road in Peshawar and arrested the suspect.

In another operation near Vehari Chowk in Multan, officials recovered 1.6 kg of ice from the possession of a motorcyclist.

Under inter-provincial drug interdiction efforts, the ANF recovered 2.4 kg of ice from a vehicle near Ghazi Gate Toll Plaza in Dera Ghazi Khan and apprehended the suspect.

The spokesman said cases had been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
