Grand Search-and-Strike operation: Terrorist hideouts demolished, multiple suspects arrested

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The police have intensified a series of grand search-and-strike operations across the district, targeting

terrorists, proclaimed offenders, and their facilitators, in line with the vision of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed.

Under the direct supervision of DPO Kohat Shehbaz Elahi, large-scale operations were conducted in the remote and mountainous areas of Lachi, Gumbat, and Bily Tang.

The operations began early Wednesday morning and continued for several hours, focusing on high-risk zones

known for militant activity, the police spokesman said.

During the targeted actions, the terrorist hideouts were demolished, and several suspected individuals, including facilitators, were taken into custody.

The police teams carried out extensive checking of sensitive locations, residential compounds, and suspected shelters to pre-empt any potential security threats.

The operations were jointly executed by SP CTD Sadaat Khan, SP Headquarters Ehsan Shah, SP City, Iftikhar Khan, DSP Headquarters, Nazir Hussain, along with personnel from CTD, Elite Force, Bomb Disposal Squad, DSB, and the Ladies Police.

All units participated with full coordination to ensure maximum operational impact.

DPO Shehbaz Elahi reaffirmed that search-and-strike operations would continue without interruption until lasting peace was secured in the district.
