FDE launches 'Summer School & Fiesta 2026' to equip Islamabad youth with future-ready skills

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) The Federal Directorate of education (FDE), under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), has launched the Summer school & Fiesta 2026, a flagship initiative aimed at equipping students with future-ready skills through innovation, creativity, and experiential learning

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Secretary MoFEPT, at Islamabad College for Girls (ICG), F-6/2. The event was attended by Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza, Director General FDE, senior government officials, educationists, development partners, and students.

Running from 15–30 June 2026, the initiative is being implemented across 31 educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory and has attracted a record enrollment of over 11,500 students from both urban and rural areas. To ensure inclusivity, registration, training, transportation, and learning materials are being provided free of cost.

Students will receive hands-on training in a wide range of disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Coding, Robotics, internet of Things (IoT), Software Development, Digital and Creative Arts, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Public Speaking, Self-Defense, Mental Health Awareness, and Environmental Education.

Following the inauguration, the Secretary Education Mr Nadeem Mahbub visited various stalls and fiesta activities, expressing immense pleasure at the high level of student engagement and enthusiasm. Addressing the ceremony, DG FDE Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza emphasized the importance of technology, creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills in preparing youth for an increasingly dynamic global landscape.
