Grand Mosque, Hall Inaugurated at MUST’s Faulty of Health & Medical Sciences

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 5th Mar, 2026) A state-of-the-art mosque and a spacious hall had been inaugurated at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FH&MS), Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), the official sources said on Thursday.

The newly constructed Dewan Begum Mosque and Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall are expected to significantly enhance student facilities, particularly benefiting nearly 900 female students by providing dedicated spaces for worship, academic engagement and co-curricular activities.

According to the sources, the initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to fostering a balanced academic environment where intellectual growth, spiritual well-being and student development could coexist.

The project was initially proposed by Dr. Mian Zeeshan Javaid, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, with support from Luqman Jarral, Inspector Inland Revenue at the Inland Revenue Department, Mirpur.

The construction was completed by Feroz Enterprises, Mirpur, ensuring high-quality standards and timely completion. Donor, Abdul Ghafoor Malik was specially acknowledged for his generous contribution toward establishing the facilities.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Tahir Malik, who commended the university’s efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve student welfare.

The appreciation shields were presented to Tahir Malik, Luqman Jarral and Engr. Muhammad Nauman Akram in recognition of their support and services in the successful completion of the project.

Addressing the ceremony, Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Faisal Riaz expressed gratitude to the donor, facilitator and construction company for their contributions.

He said the mosque had long been needed, particularly for female students of the faculty.

He added that Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall would serve as a common room, offering female students a comfortable space for academic and co-curricular activities.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Khuram Pervez Amber, Director Quality Enhancement Cell; along with directors, administrative officers, heads of departments and faculty members.
