Govt to take all possible measures of people's safety: Mohsin Naqvi

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday said that all mourning processions across

the country on 21st Ramazan, marking the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA), would conclude

by the time of Maghrib prayers.

He was speaking during a meeting with prominent scholars from across Pakistan to discuss

security arrangements and other matters related to mourning processions and religious gatherings

on the occasion.

During the meeting, it was mutually agreed that all processions across Pakistan on 21st Ramazan would

conclude by Maghrib prayers, while the duration of other processions would also be reduced.

Detailed discussions were held on ensuring a foolproof security plan for mourning processions

and gatherings to maintain peace and security.

Naqvi said the government would take every possible measure to ensure the safety and facilitation

of mourners. He added that religious scholars had always stood with Pakistan during difficult times and today the country again needed their unity and solidarity.

He urged religious scholars to promote brotherhood, harmony and unity in the current circumstances.

They assured the government of their full cooperation, saying that the enemy’s conspiracies would be foiled through unity and collective strength.

The interior minister thanked the scholars for their assurance of cooperation.

Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Agha was also present at the meeting.
