Govt moves to strengthen public service delivery under RTS Act

LOWER DIR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The district administration here on Thursday stepped up efforts to improve transparency and efficiency in public service delivery by accelerating implementation of the Right to Public Services (RTS) Act-2014, following fresh directions from the provincial government.

An orientation session was convened under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Wajid Ali Khan, where heads of all line departments were directed to ensure strict compliance with the law and provide notified services within stipulated timelines.

During the session, District Monitoring Officer Zia Ur Rahman of the Right to Public Services Commission gave a comprehensive briefing on the provisions of the RTS Act-2014, its mandate, and implementation mechanism.

Officials were sensitized on ensuring timely, efficient, and transparent delivery of services, while stressing the need to prominently display notified services at all public service points to enhance citizen awareness and accountability.

The participants were also informed about recent amendments to the Act approved by the provincial assembly on February 2, 2026, under which all services will be notified within one year and digitized within two years.

Chairing the session, Wajid Ali Khan directed all departments to adopt a proactive approach towards implementation of the RTS framework, emphasizing that improved service delivery remains a key governance priority.
