Govt allocates Rs14.8 billion for new daanish schools across underserved regions

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The government has allocated Rs14.8 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the establishment of new Daanish Schools across the country, according to the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26.

The survey document states that 12 Daanish Schools will be established in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Balochistan to expand access to quality education for students in underserved and remote areas.

The initiative is aimed at providing modern educational facilities and creating greater learning opportunities for talented youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.

According to the survey, the concerned Ministry has been allocated total Rs78.4 billion under the PSDP for FY2025-26. Out of the total allocation, the ministry will implement 17 projects and schemes, including 14 ongoing projects and three new initiatives. An amount of Rs32.1 billion has been earmarked for these projects, with the Daanish Schools initiative.
