Governor administers oath to minister Qadri; discuss wheat crisis, CNG closure with CM

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday administered oath to newly-appointed provincial minister Muhammad Adnan Qadri at a ceremony held at Governor House Peshawar.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, members of the provincial cabinet and senior government officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi. Former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, newly-appointed provincial minister, Adnan Qadri and Inspector General of Police, Zulfiqar Hameed were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the wheat supply suspension and issues relating to closure of CNG stations in the province, and agreed on a joint struggle for safeguarding the rights of the province.

The Governor and chief minister termed the wheat supply suspension a violation of the constitution and paid tribute to political parties for demonstrating unity on issues concerning provincial rights.

They expressed hope that the federal government would fulfill its commitments regarding restoration of wheat supply to the province.

The meeting also discussed the role of political parties and provincial leadership in raising the province’s case after Eid, besides exchanging views on the overall law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
