Government subsidy drives surge in demand for electric bikes in Multan

According to electric bike dealer Rashid Sandhela, the recent announcement by Maryam Nawaz Sharif offering government subsidies on electric bikes has led to a noticeable surge in sales. Dealers noted that the Punjab government’s proactive measures to promote this sector have sparked growing interest among youth and working professionals.

“Establishing electric bike manufacturing units in Multan or elsewhere in Punjab could not only further reduce prices but also generate new employment opportunities,” the dealers added.

Citizens purchasing electric bikes are also appreciating their cost-effectiveness. Ajmal, a recent buyer, said, “Electric bikes are not only environmentally friendly but also lighter on the wallet. With lower maintenance costs and reduced daily expenses, they are becoming a preferred mode of transport.”

Experts suggest that if government support continues, the number of electric bikes in Multan is expected to grow further in the near future. This trend is anticipated to reduce environmental pollution and help residents save on fuel costs, while promoting sustainable urban mobility.
