GCWUS launches plantation drive at Imam Bibi Campus

Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) has successfully launched a plantation drive at its Imam Bibi Campus under the Green Campus Initiative, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a healthier, greener campus environment

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) has successfully launched a plantation drive at its Imam Bibi Campus under the Green Campus Initiative, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a healthier, greener campus environment.

According to a press release, the drive is being conducted in collaboration with Allied Bank Limited (ABL), with active participation from the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at GCWUS and the university’s Environmental Protection Society.

Prior to the launch, ABL representatives, Mr. Noman Pazir and Mr.

Adil Chand, visited the campus and met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir to discuss joint efforts for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The initiative has brought together students, faculty members, ORIC, and the Environmental Protection Society, who are collectively taking part in tree plantation activities and awareness campaigns. The drive also aims to encourage eco-friendly practices and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

GCWUS has expressed appreciation for the support and collaboration of Allied Bank Limited and all stakeholders involved in making the initiative a success.
