GC Women University celebrates Int’l Women’s Day

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) To mark International Women’s Day, two-days art exhibition titled “Hun Na Reha Hanera” held at the Punjab Council of the Arts here on Tuesday.

The exhibition was designed by the Department of Art & Design, Government College Women University Faisalabad in collaboration with the Punjab Council of the Arts Faisalabad.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar and Vice Chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I).

The event was attended by President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chairman Hosiery Manufacturers Association, and representatives from the Women Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar highlighted the vital role of women in the progress and prosperity of society. He noted that art serves as a powerful medium of expression that raises social awareness and promotes positive thinking.

He appreciated the artwork created by the faculty of GCWUF and termed such exhibitions an effective platform for encouraging creativity.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) stated that International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women in society.

She emphasized that GCWUF is committed to providing students and faculty with opportunities for both academic excellence and creative expression.

She further remarked that the exhibition “Hun Na Reha Hanera” symbolizes the strength, courage, and hope of women, reflecting the growing role of women in every sphere of life.

She appreciated Dr. Tuba Najam and her team for displaying a fine show of artistic techniques.

The exhibition features artworks created by faculty members of GCWUF and will remain open to visitors until tomorrow.
