Four held for possessing illegal weapons, PO arrested

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jul, 2026) Police have arrested four arm holders and recovered illegal weapons from their possession during separate operations here on Monday.

According to police spokesperson, the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Morgah, Westridge, Taxila, and Rawat police stations.

Cases have been registered against the suspects under the relevant provisions of the law, and further investigations were underway.

Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs) said the crackdown against individuals possessing illegal weapons would continue as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order in the district.

Likewise, Kahuta Police have arrested the prime suspect in a murder case who had been evading arrest since November 2022, police said.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspect was wanted for allegedly killing a man after opening fire along with accomplices over a previous enmity. He had been declared a proclaimed offender (POs) and remained at large for nearly four years.

The arrest was made through a targeted operation using technical surveillance and human intelligence, leading to the suspect's successful apprehension.
