GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 53 food businesses across the district and took action against several outlets for violating food safety regulations.
According to official sources, the inspection teams issued improvement notices to 19 food points over various violations, while six food units were fined a total of Rs 65,000/- for failing to comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>During the campaign, the teams also discarded 2.1 kilograms of expired and prohibited food items. Officials reviewed compliance with food safety laws and hygiene standards at all inspected establishments.
The Punjab Food Authority said inspection and enforcement activities would continue across the district to ensure the provision of safe, hygienic and quality food to the public.
