LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) A fire broke out in a shoe manufacturing factory near Purchi Stop, Nain Sukh area of Lahore on Tuesday, which was brought under control after a detailed firefighting operation by Rescue 1122.
According to the Emergency Command and Control Centre Lahore, the incident was reported at 6:33 am when an emergency call was received stating that a fire had erupted in a unit of the footwear factory.
Rescue teams promptly reached the site and launched firefighting operations from four different sectors using modern techniques. The fire was brought under control after continuous efforts lasting four to five hours. AFFF foam was used during the operation to extinguish the blaze effectively.
According to initial information provided by the caller, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the socket of a press machine. The factory, spread over approximately nine kanals and consisting of two storeys, was partially affected.
Rescue teams successfully prevented the fire from spreading to the upper floor and confined it to the ground level, thereby saving the entire factory from being destroyed. The operation involved more than 50 rescuers, supported by 12 fire and rescue vehicles, one specialized aerial platform vehicle, one ambulance, and four motorbike ambulances.
Rescue 1122 Lahore teams completed the operation efficiently and handed over the site after ensuring complete cooling and safety measures.
