Federal government has also increased price of high-speed diesel by Rs26.77 per litre in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 24th, 2026) The Federal government on Friday increased the prices of petrol and diesel, raising both petrol and high-speed diesel rates in line with fluctuations in the international oil market.
According to an official notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol price has been increased by Rs26.77 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs393.35 per litre.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs26.77 per litre, fixing it at Rs380.19 per litre.
The revised rates will come into effect from midnight tonight and will remain applicable for the next fortnight.
Officials said the adjustment has been made amid continued volatility in global crude oil prices, which has put pressure on domestic fuel pricing.
The Petroleum Minister stated that rising international oil prices, driven by regional tensions and market instability, have impacted local fuel costs.
He added that the government has tried to absorb part of the burden to provide relief to consumers.
He further noted that both federal and provincial governments have extended relief measures in recent months to cushion the impact of fuel price hikes on the public.
The minister expressed hope that improved regional stability would help ease pressure on global oil markets, which could eventually allow a reduction in fuel prices for consumers in Pakistan.
