BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) Police claimed to have solved a blind murder case after three years of investigation into the alleged kidnapping and killing of an 18-year-old girl.

According to police, the girl identified by the initial “K”, was initially reported missing in a kidnapping case but was later found to have been murdered. Her father emerged as the prime suspect and has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

DSP Saddar Crcle Jamshed Akram said the girl wanted to marry a local youth, identified as Iftikhar of her own free will, but her family strongly opposed the relationship.

Police said the girl’s insistence on marrying the man led to tensions within the household, while her father, Irshad, feared she might elope.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly took his daughter on a motorcycle under the pretext of taking her to meet her grandmother. While passing near a canal, he is said to have stopped the motorcycle and pushed her into the water, resulting in her death.

Police further said the suspect later approached authorities himself and registered a kidnapping case to mislead investigators.

A special investigation team headed by the SDPO, along with the SHO and other officers, reopened the case and used human intelligence and technical evidence to trace the alleged killer.

Police confirmed that the investigation concluded the father had killed his daughter.
