PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Security forces and local peace committee have made significant progress in ongoing counterterrorism operations by demolishing the houses of wanted terrorists involved in multiple criminal cases, including target killings and extortion.
According to security sources on Wednesday, the operation was conducted in South Waziristan, where the houses of wanted militants identified as Khariji Fateh and Zarqawi were demolished. Both were reportedly wanted by security agencies in connection with several serious crimes.
Sources stated that the suspects were involved in target killings, extortion activities and other criminal offenses. They were also allegedly responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians.
Counterterrorism operations in the region have been intensified, with the restoration of peace and stability remaining a top priority.

According to officials, the demolished structures were being used to facilitate terrorist activities and provide operational support to terrorist networks. The action was aimed at weakening the infrastructure and capabilities of these networks.
