Forces demolish houses of wanted terrorists in S Waziristan

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Security forces and local peace committee have made significant progress in ongoing counterterrorism operations by demolishing the houses of wanted terrorists involved in multiple criminal cases, including target killings and extortion.

According to security sources on Wednesday, the operation was conducted in South Waziristan, where the houses of wanted militants identified as Khariji Fateh and Zarqawi were demolished. Both were reportedly wanted by security agencies in connection with several serious crimes.

Sources stated that the suspects were involved in target killings, extortion activities and other criminal offenses. They were also allegedly responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians.

Counterterrorism operations in the region have been intensified, with the restoration of peace and stability remaining a top priority.

Enhanced security measures have also been implemented across the area.

According to officials, the demolished structures were being used to facilitate terrorist activities and provide operational support to terrorist networks. The action was aimed at weakening the infrastructure and capabilities of these networks.

Local residents have called for lasting peace in the region and urged authorities to continue efforts toward the complete eradication of terrorism.

Security forces have also appealed to the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious individuals, maintaining contact with law enforcement agencie and playing an active role in promoting peace and security.
