Excise Department seizes 4.8 kg of hashish, accused arrested

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has recovered 4.8 kilograms of hashish during an operation conducted in Nowshera district.

A team from Excise Police Station Nowshera conducted an operation near Amangarh Bridge on the GT Road, where a suspicious motorcycle bearing registration number AZH-076 was intercepted and searched.

During the search, 4,800 grams (4.8 kilograms) of hashish, skillfully concealed inside the motorcycle seat, were recovered.

During the operation, the accused, Namdar Khan, son of Roeidad Khan, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested on the spot.

The recovered narcotics were taken into custody, and a case has been registered against the accused at Excise Police Station Nowshera, under the relevant provisions of the law. Further investigation is underway.

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing indiscriminate action against drug traffickers across the province and to taking all possible measures to eliminate the menace of narcotics from society.
