Elderly Naat reciter beaten to death for stopping dog fight

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) An elderly Naat reciter was allegedly beaten to death after attempting to stop a dog fight in Moza Kachi Wali, within the jurisdiction of Shah Jamal police station.

According to police, Hafiz Ghulam Hussain Ran threw stones to drive away dogs that had entered his house, angering the men allegedly organising the fight.

The suspects reportedly dragged him from his house while he was offering prayers and assaulted him.

He was shifted to hospital by Rescue 1122, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police launched an investigation, while the suspects remain at large.
