Eiidul Azha celebrated with religious enthusiasm in KP

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated by people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including merged tribal areas with religious fervor and enthusiasm on Wednesday..

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques and Eidgahs for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah and the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan.

Large Eid congregations were held in all major cities and towns of KP where people sought forgiveness and mercy besides prayed for acceptance of their sacrifices.

In Peshawar, the central congregations was at main Eidgah Charsadda road and historic Mohabat Khan mosque at 6:30am.

The ulema and religious scholars highlighted philosophy of sacrfice in way of Allah Almighty.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi offered Eid prayer at D I Khan and Engr Amir Muqam Federal Minister at Shangla.

Big congregations were also held at Qasim Ali Khan Dawash Masjid, Sunehri Masjid, Kalabari Masjid, Spin Jumaat Masjid Town, Zagona Masjid Hayatabad Peshawar where special prayers offered for the country and the nation"s prosperity.

The ulema in their sermons highlighted significance and philosophy of Eidul Azha and offered a special Dua for the eternal peace of the people who have martyred in the line of duty by protecting the motherland.

Maulana Tayab Qureshi,.Chief Khateeb KP said Eid-ul-Azha carried special signficance for Muslims to seek forgiveness and sacrfice everything in way of Allah Almighty.

He said people must remember the poor and deserving people in their happiness on this holy Eid.

The spirit of sacrifice teaches one to be ready for any service required for the good of humanity and willingness of Allah Almighty.

Big congregations were also held at Swat, Malakand, Swabi, Dir, Shangla, Waziristan, Bannu, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Bajaur, Charsadda, Mansehra, Mardan, Kohat, Mohmand, Buner, Khyber, Haripur, Bannu, Orakzai and others districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

The faithful slaughtered animals in line of Sunnah Ibrahim (AS).

The ulema said the people have to devote lives to the service of islam and humanity.

They said people should take special care of cleanliness after paying Sunnat Ibrahimi and cooperate fully with the sanitation staff.
