LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Director General Najmus Saqib has said that educational and cultural gatherings are essential for creating awareness about Pakistan’s magnificent historical heritage and for connecting the younger generation with their cultural roots.
WCLA on Saturday organized a thought-provoking seminar titled “Heritage Conservation An Existential Question” at Akbari Mahal Kutub Khana and Archives as part of its “Meet the Expert” series.
He said, "In line with the vision of the Punjab government, the Walled City of Lahore Authority is committed to organizing meaningful educational and cultural activities to preserve and promote the historical identity of Lahore."
He further stated, "The Walled City of Lahore Authority continues to prioritize initiatives that promote education, cultural awareness and sustainable preservation of Lahore’s historic landmarks.

The event was organized to highlight the importance of preserving Lahore’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Renowned heritage expert Kamil Khan Mumtaz served as the keynote speaker, sharing his insights on the challenges and responsibilities involved in conserving historical sites.
The seminar provided an interactive platform for architects, historians, students, and heritage enthusiasts to discuss innovative approaches for safeguarding Lahore’s architectural legacy.
This session emphasized the urgent need for awareness and proactive measures to protect heritage sites. Attendees appreciated the detailed discourse on conservation practices and the critical role of community engagement in heritage preservation.
