DSP dies while performing special duty for Islamabad talks

DSP Aftab Ahmed was immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) but he could not survive

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 20th, 2026) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Aftab Ahmed died while performing special duty in the Federal capital, Islamabad Police said on Monday.

A police spokesman said that the officer experienced a sudden health complication during duty and was immediately shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)

Despite medical efforts, he could not survive and passed away during treatment.

The spokesperson added that DSP Aftab Ahmed was serving at the Headquarters in Toba Tek Singh and was in Islamabad on special duty assignment.

His body will be sent to his native area, Chak No. 26 near Rajana, for funeral rites.
