LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital (LGH), Professor Dr Faryad Hussain, has appointed Dr Anam Batool as the focal person for Pakistan’s first Pediatric Stroke Center established at the hospital.
According to the LGH spokesperson on Saturday, Dr Anam Batool, who has specialized clinical training in stroke management, will be responsible for patient guidance, referral systems, and coordination among different departments to ensure timely and effective treatment for children suffering from stroke.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anam Batool said that in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the center has been equipped with advanced medical technology, trained staff, and facilities meeting international standards.
She added that the center will provide comprehensive services including diagnosis, emergency treatment, continuous monitoring, and rehabilitation for pediatric stroke patients under one roof.
Professor Dr Faryad Hussain emphasized that the initial “golden hours” are critical in pediatric stroke cases, and therefore the center will remain operational round the clock to ensure immediate emergency response. He stated that timely intervention can significantly reduce complications and prevent permanent disability, terming the facility a major milestone and a ray of hope for children across the country.
