SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf on Sunday assured that no leniency would be shown to any individual found guilty in the murder case of eight-year-old student Muntaha Zahra and vowed to ensure the provision of justice by fulfilling all legal requirements.
While briefing the media alongside the victim’s father, uncle, and maternal uncle regarding various aspects of the investigation, the DPO stated that the accused Arslan was found completely guilty, having confessed to the crime during interrogation following his arrest.
He added that the confession was further corroborated by available evidence.
The DPO informed that investigations regarding other individuals in custody were ongoing, noting that over 70 samples collected from the crime scene at Karkhana Bazaar Block 8 had been dispatched to the forensic laboratory for priority analysis.
He stressed that further legal action would be initiated immediately upon the receipt of the forensic report.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>On the occasion, the DPO Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf warned that miscreants attempting to disturb the city's peace by inciting public sentiment would be dealt with an iron hand, adding that the process of arresting those involved in vandalism and looting at the shop where the incident occurred was underway.
He maintained that no citizen would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
During the media briefing, the victim's father, Naeem, expressed his complete satisfaction with the police's performance.
It was collectively agreed that all stakeholders of society must sit together and seriously consider effective measures with citizen cooperation to prevent such heinous crimes.
The DPO further appealed to parents to keep a strict watch on their children’s movements and acquaintances, advising them not to let children outdoors unnecessarily.
He remarked that it was difficult to identify the predators existing within society, concluding that precaution remains the greatest form of protection.
