DPO Attock reviews Muharram security, orders stringent measures for Ashura processions

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mowaran Khan, on Friday inspected security arrangements in Pindigheb Circle to review preparations for the main 10th Muharram (Ashura) processions, directing officers to ensure comprehensive measures for the peaceful observance of the occasion.

During the visit, the DPO examined security deployments, procession routes, and other sensitive locations in Pindigheb and Malhowali. He instructed the concerned officers to completely seal all streets and access points leading to the procession routes to prevent any unauthorized entry.

Sardar Mowaran Khan further directed that no individual be allowed to join the processions without undergoing a thorough body search and security screening.

He stressed that strict checking procedures should be implemented at all entry points to ensure maximum public safety.

The DPO also urged all police officers and personnel deployed on Muharram security duties to remain highly vigilant and maintain constant surveillance over suspicious individuals and activities. He said the protection of lives and property, along with the peaceful and secure conduct of Ashura processions, remained the foremost priority of Attock Police.
