DIG Quetta reviews security for central Ashura Procession

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Imran Shaukat, visited the routes of the central Youm-e-Ashura procession to review security arrangements, route sealing, and overall planning.

During the inspection, he assessed the extensive security measures implemented across the city. More than 4,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed to safeguard the central procession and other sensitive locations. Officials confirmed that foolproof security, effective route sealing, and additional protective measures have been put in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of Ashura.

DIG Imran Shaukat met with officers and personnel on duty, commending their commitment and encouraging them to remain vigilant. He directed the force to perform their responsibilities with full dedication, alertness, and professionalism to protect mourners and maintain law and order.
