DPM/FM Dar for revitalizing SAARC to advance regional connectivity

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday underscored the need for a revitalized SAARC, guided by the principles of its Charter, to advance regional connectivity, sustainable development, and the collective well-being of the peoples of South Asia.

The deputy prime minister highlighted the region’s immense demographic and economic potential and reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the SAARC process.

Golam Sarwar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the DPM/FM commended the Secretary General’s efforts to promote regional cooperation.

The Secretary General expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s consistent support for SAARC and its institutions. He thanked DPM/FM for Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional and global peace.

DPM/FM wished the Secretary General success towards the conclusion of his tenure and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavors.
