Double life imprisonment awarded in rape-cum-murder case

BOUREWALA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) An accused in a rape-cum-murder case of a minor girl was sentenced to double life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 800,000 in a four-year-old case, here on Friday.

Additional Sessions Judge Mohsin Ali announced the verdict, sentencing the accused, Sufiyan Ali, to two life terms with a hefty fine. The case was prosecuted by Advocate Zahid Mehmood.

According to the prosecution, the convict kidnapped the six-year-old daughter of Amjad Ali, a resident of 265/EB, and took her to his shop where he committed the offence before strangling her to death.

The case was registered at Sadar Police Station on the complaint of Amjad Ali, nominating his nephews Sufiyan Ali and his accomplice Umair. After completion of the investigation, the challan was submitted to the court.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge convicted Sufiyan Ali and awarded him double life imprisonment with a fine, while co-accused Umair was acquitted after being given the benefit of the doubt.
