Distt admin impose fine on profiteers

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) District administration Shaheed Benazirabad continued its crackdown against profiteers for the twelfth consecutive day, imposing fines totaling Rs 28,000 on 34 shopkeepers. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, operations were carried out across all four talukas including Nawab Shah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, and Daur, during the twelfth day of Ramazan. Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars conducted inspections in their respective areas, targeting various markets, fruit and vegetable shops, and pushcart vendors.

According to details, in Taluka Nawabshah, 14 profiteers were fined Rs 15,000. In Taluka Daur, 8 shopkeepers were fined Rs 5,000, while in Taluka Sakrand, 8 shopkeepers were fined Rs 5,000. In Taluka Qazi Ahmed, 4 shopkeepers were fined Rs 3,000. On the twelfth of Ramazan, revenue officers inspected a total of 139 shops and pushcarts across the four talukas. Several shopkeepers were warned and directed to prominently display official price lists to ensure compliance with government rates.
