NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) District administration Shaheed Benazirabad continued its crackdown against profiteers on the 26th day of Ramazan, imposing fines of Rs.62,500 on 33 shopkeepers.
According to details, actions were carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani. Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars conducted inspections in markets, vegetable and fruit shops, and among street vendors across four talukas of Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed and Daud.
During the operations, fines were imposed on 33 profiteering shopkeepers.
In Taluka Nawabshah, five shopkeepers were fined Rs3,500, while in Taluka Daud four shopkeepers were fined Rs12,000. In Taluka Sakrand, four shopkeepers were fined Rs2,000, whereas in Taluka Qazi Ahmed fines amounting to Rs45,000 were imposed on 20 shopkeepers. On the 26th of Ramazan, revenue officers inspected a total of 134 shops and pushcarts across the four talukas, out of which 33 shopkeepers were fined and the penalties were recovered on the spot. Revenue officials stated that actions against profiteers will continue on a daily basis during Ramadan to provide relief to the public.
