District peace committee holds meeting on Muharram

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Commissioner of Gujranwala Division, Muhammad Ali, Regional Police Officer (Gujranwala Region) Khurram Shahzad, District Police Officer Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad, and Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali held a meeting with members of the District Peace Committee regarding Muharram-ul-Haram arrangements, the law-and-order situation, and inter-sect harmony.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the peaceful conduct of processions and religious gatherings (majalis), comprehensive security measures, implementation of the code of conduct, mutual tolerance, religious harmony, and cooperation among the relevant institutions, a release said.

On this occasion, religious scholars from all schools of thought and members of the Peace Committee reaffirmed their commitment to continuing full cooperation with the district administration and police in promoting peace, brotherhood, and religious harmony.
