District Bar highlights significance of Pakistan Day

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) President District Bar Association Rawalpindi, Sajid Awan and General Secretary Qamar-ul-Haq Khan Niazi Advocate, in a joint statement, said March 23 holds great historical importance as Pakistan Day, marking the adoption of the Pakistan Resolution in 1940.

They said the All India Muslim League presented the resolution in Lahore, declaring the demand for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent inevitable. They added that the religious, cultural and social values of Muslims were entirely different, making the creation of a separate state a necessity of the time.

They said that Pakistan Day reminded the nation of the sacrifices made by forefathers and provides an opportunity to renew the pledge to work for the country’s progress, stability and prosperity.

They also prayed for the safety and unity of Muslims across the world and urged that differences within the Muslim community should be set aside to promote unity. They called for resolving global conflicts through dialogue.
