DHO Tank organizes awareness walk to highlight importance of child immunization

TANK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Marking World Immunization Awareness Week, the District Health Office (DHO) organized a walk in the city to promote the importance of vaccination.

The walk was led by District Health Officer Dr. Israr ul Haq and attended by health professionals and community members in large numbers.

Dr. Israr ul Haq emphasized that routine immunization is a highly effective way to protect children from serious diseases such as measles, polio, hepatitis, and other life-threatening illnesses. He urged upon the parents to ensure that their children complete the full course of vaccinations to help build a healthier society.

He stated that health department teams are actively visiting homes to administer vaccines, adding that public cooperation is essential for the success of this national effort.

The walk was attended by Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Imran, EPI Coordinator Dr. Arshad Nawaz, AKU Regional South Coordinator Saeed Anwar, along with health officials, doctors, paramedical staff, lady health workers, and a large number of citizens.

The purpose of the walk was to highlight the importance of immunization and to raise awareness among the public about the benefits of timely vaccination in protecting children from preventable diseases. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans promoting the significance of vaccination.
