Dengue situation reviewed in Sialkot

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner Naeem Bashir has called for further acceleration of dengue surveillance and control activities under a coordinated strategy to eliminate the disease.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee (DERC), where a detailed review of the dengue situation and ongoing preventive measures was carried out.

During the briefing, CEO Health Dr Aslam and Entomologist Sehrish informed that from January 1 to April 24, 2026, a total of 967 suspected dengue cases were reported, of which only one case was confirmed.

They added that 555 indoor and 124 outdoor teams are actively working in the field, inspecting millions of houses and locations, while ensuring 100 percent coverage of identified hotspots.
