SHEIKHUPURA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) The district administration intensified anti-dengue activities, with health officials and other relevant departments conducting regular indoor and outdoor surveillance to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, the official sources said on Monday.

Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Imran Marth, the teams had been monitoring areas including water collection points, graveyards and ponds, while routinely checking for dengue larvae as part of an ongoing prevention campaign across the district.

Speaking about the anti-dengue drive, the deputy commissioner said the Punjab government was taking comprehensive steps to prevent the spread of dengue fever and that the district administration was actively implementing the campaign throughout Sheikhupura.

He said dengue mosquito breeding could be effectively controlled by keeping surroundings clean and dry.

He urged the people to ensure that water did not remain stagnant in public and private buildings, parks, tyre shops, service stations, household flower pots and water storage tanks.

Marth also advised the public to maintain cleanliness, prevent water accumulation and use mosquito-repellent sprays.

The deputy commissioner stressed that public cooperation was essential alongside government efforts to combat the disease.
