SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali on Saturday warned of strict action against those dumping animal remains on roads, streets and open spaces during Eid-ul-Azha, warning that fines of up to Rs. 50,000 would be imposed.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She said during a media briefing that the district administration and Suthra Punjab Programme teams had finalised special cleanliness arrangements across the district to ensure a clean and safe Eid environment.
The deputy commissioner said sanitation staff would collect animal remains door-to-door, while 300,000 eco-friendly bags had been distributed for proper waste disposal.
She added that 209 trenches had been prepared for scientific burial of waste.
She further said over 5,400 sanitation workers, along with additional staff and enforcement teams, would remain on duty during Eid holidays, while complaints would be addressed within two hours through dedicated helplines.
