LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz visited the wheat procurement centre established at Mughalpura here on Monday and reviewed arrangements for wheat procurement, gunny bags distribution, data entry and stock management.

During the visit, officials briefed the deputy commissioner on logistical measures taken to achieve procurement targets within the stipulated timeframe and informed him about the daily wheat stock received at the centre.

Talking on the occasion, Muhammad Ali Ijaz said the district administration was fully active in the field to ensure transparent and farmer-friendly wheat procurement in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of “Prosperous Farmers” and the provincial government’s food security mission. He directed officials concerned to ensure that wheat was purchased strictly at the government-fixed support price and warned that no exploitation of farmers would be tolerated at any level.
