DC urges interfaith harmony on Eid-ul-Azha.

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir chaired a meeting of the district peace committee held regarding Eid-ul-Azha here on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Imran Ahmed Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anwar Ali, Shahid Razak Saka, Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Anwar, Sahibzada Faiz Rasool, Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, representatives of the Christian community and other schools of thought.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the key role of the committee in promoting religious harmony, peace and brotherhood in the district. The cooperation of scholars and representatives of all schools of thought is commendable for the district administration.

He urged the need to further promote Interfaith and inter-religious harmony on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

He instructed the officers of district administration, police and relevant agencies to ensure foolproof security and cleanliness arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha.

He appealed to the people to avoid throwing the waste of sacrificial animals into the drains, sewer lines, open plots and canals and extend coordination with the waste management company to dispose of the waste properly.

The ulema also appreciated the district administration's measures taken for better law and order and maintaining interfaith harmony and assured full cooperation in this regard.

The participants also offered ‘Fateha’ for the departed soul of the late father of a peace committee member Hasnain Shirazi as well as the martyrs of the homeland. Special ‘Dua’ was also offered for the country’s sovereignty, stability, and prosperity.
