NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a key meeting of National Action Plan/Apex Committee Friday at Darbar Hall.
Meeting reviewed in detail the actions taken and progress made over the last month in connection with the Apex Committee. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner said that in view of current national situation, security arrangements across the district should be further tightened. He directed law enforcement agencies and police to keep a strict watch on suspicious individuals and ensure maintenance of law and order.
Deputy Commissioner also instructed police authorities to launch a crackdown against professional beggars. He said that during the holy month of Ramazan, revenue officers are conducting daily operations against profiteers to provide relief to general public, and these efforts should be made more effective.
He directed officials of Food Control Authority to carry out daily actions against those involved in adulteration of milk and other food items. Deputy Commissioner further instructed customs and other law enforcement agencies to accelerate ongoing operations against illegal petrol pumps operating without NOCs and against non-custom paid goods in the district. The meeting also discussed immediate evacuation measures regarding the previously declared dangerous buildings, Shan Plaza and Tayyaba Center.
The meeting was attended by Major Tajammal Adnan of Pakistan Army, Mayor Qazi Muhammad Rasheed Bhatti, MS PMC Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, representatives from Rangers, Police, Local Government, Health, Social Welfare, education, Motorway Police, Anti-Corruption, Rescue, Zakat & Ushr Department, all Assistant Commissioners of the talukas, law enforcement
agencies, and officers from various departments.
