DC reviews strategy for 2026–27 school enrollment drive

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting here to review preparations and strategy for the 2026–27 school enrollment campaign with a focus on bringing out-of-school children into the formal education system and reducing dropout rates.

The meeting was attended by Chairman District Development Advisory Committee Kohat Daud Shah Afridi, Tehsil Chairman Lachi Muhammad Ihsan, officials of the education department and other concerned authorities.

Participants discussed measures to strengthen the enrollment campaign, particularly in rural and remote areas, to ensure maximum participation of children in schools.

Education department officials briefed the meeting on the district’s current educational indicators and enrollment figures, highlighting challenges and opportunities for improving access to education.

The meeting also stressed the need to enhance outreach to parents, promote the campaign through mosques and media, and organize special welcome activities in schools to encourage newly enrolled students.

Speaking on the occasion, Daud Shah Afridi said providing education to every child was a top priority of the government and called for coordinated efforts by all relevant institutions to ensure maximum enrollment in schools.
